Hardwood received his name in part because he’s a Tree Shaker son, but mostly because of the family business, Cole Hardwood, of where we purchased him from. Hardwood’s littermates have cleaned house. A littermate brother and sister were the Champion Tamworth Barrow and Fourth Overall Tamworth Gilt at NJSS. Another littermate brother was Champion Tamworth and 4th Overall at Clinton County, and another littermate was Champion Tamworth and 4th Overall in Wisconsin. Kyle had seen this boar as a baby and told me that he was unbelievable, so I knew that I needed to see him as he matured and man did he match up right. Hardwood is stout boned with a bold center body and great curvature to his upper rib. He comes and goes wide at the ground. Hardwood can carry his mass and power so well on the move. Hardwood has lived up to and surpassed our expectations; completely dominating the Tamworth scene at all levels! At the 2023 Exposition he sired the Champion Tamworth Gilt and Barrow, Fourth Overall Tamworth Gilt and Fifth Overall Tamworth Barrow. At the 2023 Team Purebred Junior National he sired the Champion Tamworth and Fourth Overall Barrow, the Champion, Reserve, and Third Overall Tamworth Gilts.
