We knew if we wanted a Swing Your Sword son that we needed to head north to see what Platt & Thompson had put together. As an on farm purchase between the holidays, we are thrilled to have Shields Up at Goldrush. Shields Up has that big ring look. I read him as a greener maturing, fresh made boar that only gets better with time and is suited perfectly for the big ring end game. His length of front end, clean throat, and look from the side is striking. The angle to his forearm and set to his hock is ideal providing length of stride off both ends. We have high hopes that Shields Up will carry on the look and excitement that Swing Your Sword had in his short time.  We read him as a futuristic, good built boar that will have the stamina and look to outlast them in the big ring.
